Update - Version 2 (+ Version 3 info)
Hey guys! I've been busy with schoolwork, so I haven't been working on this game that much. There's a good amount of new stuff in this update, so let's get to it!
5 new levels
More content, but that's not the point
5 new levels have been added, specifically in area 1(the one with the basic tiles.) One level is more open compared to the others, and going too far from it results in a death. I would have added more levels, but I wanted to focus on Quality of Life improvements for this update, not new content.

Hardcore Mode
Thought the game was too easy? Try this
When you start the game, you have the choice to enable hardcore mode. If you die while in hardcore mode, you have to start from the beginning of the game. Additionally, you aren't allowed to retry through the pause menu, as that also results in you going back to the beginning. You not only have to be careful about spikes, but also making sure you don't softlock the level. There's also a more complex death animation that comes with hardcore mode.
Normal death/Hardcore death(that's not blood by the way)
Tutorials in WebGL
Confused on why the tutorial monitors weren't working?
Tutorials now play in the WebGL build(the browser build.) Additionally, the intro now plays in the WebGL build, which shows a sign of life in the WebGL build.
New Music
Extra variety to each area in the game
Two new tracks were added, one that plays in area 2(the one with the vine tiles,) and another that plays on the hardcore death screen. The main theme was also adjusted to make it longer and to add some percussion.
Quality of Life Changes
The game is a little bit better now
- The intro shows you that, yes, you can skip the intro. It's also another sign of life just in case the intro video doesn't load/work.
- A background was added into the main menu.
- The settings for music and screenshake have been moved to a separate page, which makes things more roomy.
- The game camera's background is now parallax.
- Each player collectable now moves in a unique way; the player collectables will change their movement patterns every level.
- The pause menu doesn't have a quit button anymore; instead, there is a button that leads back to the main menu
- This also means that there are no longer any quit buttons in the WebGL build.
- There is now an actual map template(the previous one was a prefab,) but you'll have to extract it from the game files and you probably won't be able to make a level with it. I could though because I have the project files.
- The gravity switching in level 18(orginally level 13) was made slightly slower.
- Level 25(orginally level 20) now has some decoration which hints towards area 3, which will be worked on soon.
- The player is now trapped in a box while in the main menu; the player used to fall indefinitely while in the main menu, which would cause floating-point number issues the longer you were in the menu.
- Functionality was added that doesn't allow you to jump while in a one block tall gap, but it isn't enabled at the moment due to issues with jumping while a box was on top of you, which would make certain levels harder. This will be fixed and enabled completely in Version 3.
- The rendering in the WebGL build was tweaked, which completely uncovers the game and adds a 1 pixel border to the game that is not rendered by it
- An easter egg was added, which requires you to
do some stuff in the hardcore death screen
Game Page Changes
Makes downloading the game a bit more pleasant
- More screenshots (are coming or are already there)
- An animated thumbnail (is coming or is already there)
- No more information about the WebGL build as I don't have to conform to game jam rules now that LowRezJam is over
Version 3 Information
In version 3, I plan to add more levels to area 2, as well as adding area 3, which will include new mechanics, like conveyor belts, gravity fields and enemies. There will also be a level select so you can select any level you want, just as long as you have it unlocked. This is will also come with saving functionally, allowing you to save your progress and come back to it later. More bugs will be fixed, and more support for more platforms will come.
That's pretty much it for version 2!
